General Information:  

Primarily found in the Northern Continents such as Europe and North America, elderberries are the fruit of the flowering plant Sambucus.

Elderberries contain compounds called flavonoids.  Flavenoids are typically found in leafy vegetables, dark fruits, and chocolate.  These compounds are responsible for the high antioxidant capacity of elderberries.

History:
